Stonebridge doubles championship
Stonebridge doubles championship dates for the first 2 heats are Sunday 28 September and Monday 29 September 2008. We recommend early booking to avoid disappointment. A major sponsor has confirmed their support and will be providing fly fishing equipment worth in excess of £500 to the winners.

Stonebridge launches two new clubs!
BBRT Club - If an angler catches a Brown, Blue and Rainbow Trout all in the same day at Stonebridge then they become a member of the BBRT club.
Triple Club - To be eligible to become a member of Triple Club the angler must catch three doubles in the same day.
These clubs are to recognise the sporting achievements of our anglers. All catches must be verified by a Stonebridge Team member.
Coarse Competition Details Update
Open Match will be held on the first Sunday of every month and a friendly match will be held every Wednesday evening

Hergill Lake to be turned into Coarse Lake
Preparations are under way to turn the Hergill Lake into Stonebridge Fishing Lakes first Coarse Lake. We are hoping to have this open within the next month or so, so for further information please telephone the fishery or send us an email using the contact us page.

Salmon and Trout Junior Day Sunday 6th April 2008
The Salmon and Trout Association are to hold a juniors day on the Specimen Lake on Sunday 6th April. The day will consist of fly fishing lessons, talks on flies, rods and reels and other aspects of the fishes environment. All equipment is supplied on the day. There will be prizes on the day for various achievements donated by the Environment Fisheries Department and Ultimate Fishing Supplies of Tyne and Wear. All juniors are welcome. The price for the whole day is £10.00.

Trout Masters 2007 fish off is to be held on Saturday 2nd February 2008 on the Hergill Lake. The Specimen Lake is open as usual. Please contact the fishery if you wish to take part in the competition.

20 Plus Club
The new owners are proud to offically launch the 20 Plus Club! All anglers who have qualified for the club by catching and landing a 20lb plus Trout will be invited to fish in the 20 Plus Club fish off for the title of Stonebridge Fishing Lakes 20 Plus Club Champion of 2007 the winner being awarded with a special trophy. Each member taking part in the fish off will be presented with a specially designed patch at the awards day in 2008.
If you have caught a 20lb plus Trout and have not yet left your contact details with a member of the fisheries team then please do so as soon as possible either by telephone or e-mail.

Hergill
Hergill Lake - We have recently found that a number of carp are in Hergill lake & after spauning are now in greater numbers and feeding on the bottom, making the water cloudy approx 18inches from the surface. As we have had numerous enquires to whether or not we allow fly fishing on our original carp lake, which we don't we feel that we should now let the Fishermen know that they can now fly fish for carp and trout on the Hergill Lake. We will carry on stocking the Hergill Lake with Trout only. Ticket prices etc remain the same.
Rules Update
 It has been brought to our attension by our regulars that one or two other fishermen maybe cheating. It is with regret that that we now have to introduce hook checks etc. We are disappointed that it has had to come to this but know you will understand.

Carp Lake

New Evening Tickets
Stonebridge will be open till dusk on the following evenings. Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. The remainders (Tue,Thur,Fri & Sunday) the fishery will close at 6pm. Sporting tickets will be available for both the Specimen lake and Hergill. A sporting evening ticket for the Specimen lake will start at 3pm and will be charged at £2.50 per hour with a minimum of 2 hours.
