Great Tip
Hi Richard
I fished St Claudes lake on Wedensday 30th October and frankly I didn't expect much as the wind had shifted to the north over the preceeding two days and the temperature had dropped rapidly. Sure enough after two hours of effort with different float methods I had not had a bite. The guy with the bacon butty arrived, muched looked forwrd to on a cool and blustery day. He pointed me to the island and the deeper water thirty yards away and left me to work it out, the best tip I have had for years. Having got the best catch of the day on rod and line with soft pellet the previous Sunday (25 fish upto two and na half pounds each) I plumped for a size 12 hair rig and a shotgun feeder. I mixed a low oil ground bait with a cup of Hemp and a cup of 4mm pellet for the feeder and loaded a 10mm halibut pellet onto the hair rig. Now remember that at 1130 I had not had a bite the fun began. I fished within four feet of the Island and took fish untill my arms hurt, thirty fish between four!
and five pounds and a few around six to seven. There was a smattering of fish in the three to four bracket. There is no doubt that my bag was over 100lbs and more likely closer to 150lbs, if I had used a keep net there would have been a genuine requirement for three. I don't expect this can be done every day however it was the best days course angling I can remember in well over thirty years. Having fished over the last few days on St Claudes I know that it is developing into a fantastic venue and given the depth of water a top winter venue.
Hope this is helpfull
many thanks Richard

4th visit
This was my 4th visit to Stonebridge and I brought 4 guests for an afternoons fishing . The welcome as usual was very friendly . We fished pegs 34 - 38 . Using a variety of methods we all caught very well . Rob fished feeder to the island and caught ide, tench and roach . Kevin fished pole at 9 metres dead depth and again caught mainly ide . Ray fished waggler and took a mixed bag of ide ,roach and golden orfe also losing one big carp at the net . Boyd fished pole at 13 mtrs using only a short hook length and bagged up on ide taking over 25lbs in around 3 and a half hours . I messed around also fishing pole at 11 mtrs fishing up in the water I also bagged up on ide . I also fished on the deck using paste and took a number of good hard fighting carp . A great days fishing . I think that this place has to be one of North Yorkshires best coarse fisheries . Thanks again for a great day Richard and we will be seeing you again soon .
Thanks for a great day
Thanks for a great day of coarse fishing (Police match July). Pleasant people, well laid out and comfortable pegs and a good head of fish. Best days fishing I've had for a long time. Looking forward to my next visit.

Silver Surfer!
Hello Aimee,
My name is John, and I am a silver surfer. I was surfing the internet when I came across your website, and decided to visit Stonebridge Fisheries. I have been fishing from a very young age, and started in the ponds and canals in Lancashire.
I have watched the industry grow over the years, and have visited quite a lot of commericial establishments, however I have never been impressed enough to put pen to paper and write about them, until now.
I phoned the staff and asked would it be possible to spend a night or few camping on the premisies. The staff were very obliging, even though they have never allowed this before. I decided that I would fish in the coarse fishing lake.
There are 3 lakes. A speciman lake, a trout lake and a coarse fishing lake with 11 different species of fish stocked. I was very impressed by the amount and variety of fish I was catching, and on one day I was there a competition held on the coarse lake, each producing about 40 - 50lb of fish and fishing from 10:30am - 4:00pm.
The coarse fishing lake was stocked with a large number of carp from 3lb upwards. I caught a large number of these to which I have eclosed pictures of some of them. The staff were very helpful and obliging, and helped us out whenever they could, which included telling us the most productive pegs.
This really is the best commerecial fisheries I have ever fished in all my years. J.L.Bridge

First Visit
Hi
It was my first visit today to this new fishing complex and I was greeted with such a warm welcome by the owners, I was pleasantly surprised by the surroundings around the lakes, no litter at all, freshly cut grass, newly planted trees and flowers and everyone so friendly.
The fishing itself was first class- I ended my day with 150lb of fish in six hours, mainly carp.
I would highly recommend this venue to anyone- you won’t be disappointed.
Brilliant day, thank you

Excellent match venue
The 'new' course lake provided an excellent match venue in my opinion. This was the first time i'd seen the place and to have 60+lb in a competition is always good but even better when you consider that over 40lb was from smallish silver fish. Anyone who even half heartedly went for silvers had 25lb of em!! And to prove its not all silvers, Stu "Drawbag" Sexton just pipped me by a couple of pound with a nearly all carp net.
Facilities were excellent, keep nets provided is sensible and the actual fishery was mature with excellent access. Pegs were by no means crammed in and it seems like a venue where lots of methods will come into play.
Hope you consider running an Open summer league on Sundays!!!
