Sunday 10 April 2010
We are members of Langley Park Fishing Club and visited Stonebridge from the North East and had a great day fishing from pegs 27 and 28. The weather was bright sunshine with very little wind at first from about 9am to midday. Fishing at 10mts up in the water on maggots, the fishing was instant with carp from 2lb to 4lb and big chub at 4lb.
After midday the bites tailed off and the wind picked up blowing from right to left. They then switched from up in the water to the bottom on corn at 10mts. This was instant and the carp started to feed again. We packed up at 4pm and estimated we had approx 70lb to 90lb each. What a fantastic day! We will be coming back very soon. Thanks to all at Stonebridge for an unforgettable day.

What a Day!
I would just like to thank you for such a great days fishing on St Clauds lake, 6 hours of fishing from pegs 7 and 8, and 23 carp ranging from 3lb to around 8lb, me and phil were astounded with the quality of the fish that came out, fin perfect , however when they take the bait they really do take it, nearly pulling our rods in the water every time, infact phils rod did go in first cast when he landed a 5lb common, the tactics we used were 12ft feeder rods with 6lb line to around 12 inch hook link varying throughout the day as the fish did wise up pretty quickly and a size 16 hook, the bait we started on was just half a worm quickly changing to worm tipped with a red maggot, then three red maggots on a hook, then once they had wised up to that then the sweetcorn came out to devastating effect and to add a bit of a visual attractor tip it again with red maggot, just to say again thanks for a great day see you again soon.
