Tagged Fish Landed at £200!
Neil Middleditch landed the tagged fish at a prize fund of £200 whilst fishing with Hetton Lyons angling Club!

Letter from Neil -
Been down to stonebridge for a couple of practice sessions (thursday april 21nd and thursday april 28th) before our fishing club hetton lyons angling club had our awayday trophy at stonebridge on saturday 30th april.
This was the first time I had ever fished at stonebridge and did not know about the tagged fish so on both thursdays I had not paid the extra money for the tagged fish winnings but on the match day it was different, nearly everybody in the match including me paid into the tagged fish and it was certanly worth it for me. After two hours fishing for carp and not a bite finally the float went under and it was the orange tagged fish, and after catching another three carp I finally finnished third in the match.
So for me it turned out to be a really good days fishing.
Neil Middleditch

New Shildon - Club Record Broken!
Report below written by Andy Fisher of New Shildon Angling Club - 12 September 2010
Total Weight 94 lb.
The Match weight consisted of Ide and Chub.
The first half of the Match, I caught Ide and 3 Chub, very shallow from 6" to 12" deep, all on Maggot at 9 Metres on the pole. The Chub weighed 3 lb / 4lb / 5 lb and gave me a merry dance on very light tackle, but a welcome bonus, I had about 60 lb
in this first half.
The second half of the match, the Ide had switched off on the pole line so I attacked the peg with the Pellet Waggler, fishing 10" deep with hard 6mm pellets, catching Chub steadily until the end of the match only losing 3 fish. Approx 35 lb all Chub. ( the Chub ranged form 1 lb to 3 lb ).
All of the fish I caught in this match were immaculate and a credit to Stonebridge Fishery.
Many Thanks
Andy Fisher

Tagged Fish
The prize pot for the tagged fish in St Claudes Lake stood at £214!
Alan Hodgson from North Allerton landed the golden carp with £217 on its head! Three days after, Andrew Archbold landed it again on paste with another £27 on its head.
Letter from Alan Hodgson
Today I gave myself a rest from working and headed off to Stonebridge Fishing Lakes at Little Fencote, North Allerton. Having caught a number of quality carp on the pole (my next fish I will never forget) as my float shot off, I thought to myself, this is a good fish, I hope this is the tagged fish the owner introduced to the lake as an optional £1 extra on top of the day ticket (if caught the angler takes the pool money). To my astonishment, as the fish came to the surface, I was gobsmacked. It was the bright orange ghost carp I had been fishing for. I said to myself, do not mess this up, there is £217 on its head. As I netted the fish to my relief and £217 richer, the fish was photographed and released to spend another day with a price tag on its head. As my wife will be 60 this weekend, I will spend it on a weekend break thanks to Stonebridge Fishery.

Sunday 10 April 2010
We are members of Langley Park Fishing Club and visited Stonebridge from the North East and had a great day fishing from pegs 27 and 28. The weather was bright sunshine with very little wind at first from about 9am to midday. Fishing at 10mts up in the water on maggots, the fishing was instant with carp from 2lb to 4lb and big chub at 4lb.
After midday the bites tailed off and the wind picked up blowing from right to left. They then switched from up in the water to the bottom on corn at 10mts. This was instant and the carp started to feed again. We packed up at 4pm and estimated we had approx 70lb to 90lb each. What a fantastic day! We will be coming back very soon. Thanks to all at Stonebridge for an unforgettable day.

What a Day!
I would just like to thank you for such a great days fishing on St Clauds lake, 6 hours of fishing from pegs 7 and 8, and 23 carp ranging from 3lb to around 8lb, me and phil were astounded with the quality of the fish that came out, fin perfect , however when they take the bait they really do take it, nearly pulling our rods in the water every time, infact phils rod did go in first cast when he landed a 5lb common, the tactics we used were 12ft feeder rods with 6lb line to around 12 inch hook link varying throughout the day as the fish did wise up pretty quickly and a size 16 hook, the bait we started on was just half a worm quickly changing to worm tipped with a red maggot, then three red maggots on a hook, then once they had wised up to that then the sweetcorn came out to devastating effect and to add a bit of a visual attractor tip it again with red maggot, just to say again thanks for a great day see you again soon.
