Now the weather has warmed up, leisure anglers fishing Stonebridge Fishing Lakes' St Claudes Lake, are having good bags of both silvers and carp. Several anglers are regularly achieving over 100lb in a session. The fish are far from hook-shy and are succumbing to most baits including pellet, maggot, meat, corn, bread, boilies and paste. St Claudes Lake offers a tranquil and scenic venue for the leisure angler and match angler alike. It has 46 pegs, of which 5 are dedicated for infirm or elderly persons. It is the ideal club match venue as several clubs have already found out for themselves. Bookings are still being accepted for the remainder of the year and early booking is recommended for next year.

The specimen carp lake at Stonebridge is also yielding up its treasures with one angler catching 19 carp to 18 and 1/2lb in a day session. Goldie split tail, the big common, has yet to be caught this year but anglers have had numerous double figure carp and a couple of twenties out. Stonebridge has recently introduced overnight camping for fishermen and their family members. This has proved popular with both campers and camper vanners already taking advantage of this opportunity and the extended fishing time.
